The most efficient and cost-efficient orthodontic treatment method is metal braces. They realign the jaw, treat crowding, and straighten the teeth. During regular checkups, our orthodontist simply shift the teeth in tiny increments.

The same size, shape, and function are served by clear braces, which are also known as ceramic or invisible braces. The key distinction between the two is that ceramic braces feature brackets that match the colour of the teeth, making them less obvious because they blend in with the surrounding teeth. Clear or white rubber bands and elastic brackets are also used in clear braces.

A less popular substitute for conventional metal braces are lingual braces. The key distinction is that the brackets and wires are attached to the teeth’s backs, making them virtually undetectable to others.

Self-ligating braces are similar to conventional metal braces with one important exception: instead of utilising elastic or metal ties to hold the wires in place, the brackets themselves hold the wires in place.

The ligatures on traditional braces are typically adjusted at each adjustment appointment. Self-ligating brackets can be modified without having to replace anything because they serve as their own ligatures.

Another “invisible” orthodontic treatment option is clear aligners like Invisalign. They are detachable and just somewhat intrusive.

Teeth move using clear aligners a tenth of a millimeter at a time, requiring fewer dental visits. For teens and adults, aligners are a common alternative, particularly if their dental alignment difficulties are not too severe.
